So, after months of speculation as to who would take the White House, it was done with a landslide to Trump. There was at least one positive. It was quick and certain, and an orderly transition will follow. There are also positives to draw from Trump’s pro-business posture, but the sting in the tail will be the inflationary pressures from stimulating the economy and embarking on a trade war campaign. Not to mention some of his more extreme policies and their impact on social cohesion.

It wasn’t the character of the President-elect that saw him comfortably secure the White House, as well as the Senate and probably also the House for the Republicans. It was about the policies, it will be interesting to see how things unfold a second time around.
